Northamptonshire Community Assets Project (NCAP) is a new project funded by Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited.
The project aims to develop viable and effective asset based community enterprises and 'community anchors'. A leaflet is attached.
The project is run by
- East Midlands Development Trusts Association
- The Doddridge Centre
- And us, Enterprise Solutions Northamptonshire
It aims to:
- Provide direct support to asset based community organisations
- Create a learning network which can share ideas and learn from established community enterprises
- Work with key partners in the county to develop positive approaches to community asset development
- Build the capacity of local third sector support organisations to provide effective help to organisations running or looking to acquire and manage assets
- Identify and facilitate potential assets transfers from the public sector
- Seek to attract inward investment
We are also working with Northamptonshire County Council, who are a pilot in the national CLG ‘Advancing Assets for Communities’ project exploring community asset transfer opportunities.
