A credit union is a financial co-operative owned and run by its members. It provides access to cheap loan finance, related to the level of savings you have and your ability to save regularly.

There are credit unions in Corby, Kettering, Northampton and Wellingborough.  A credit union for anyone who lives or works in Northamptonshire, the Shire Credit Union, is to be launched in 2008.
